![]() They are in there and positioned correctly. Last night I disassembled to find out that my assumption of not having the ring included in the grease seal that was one the car was false. I picked up genuine Mercedes grease seals which DO have the metal ring in them. At that point I made an assumption that the Beck/Arnley parts I used as replacements didn’t have the coiled metal ring in the grease seal that the speed sensor reads off of (with a magnet for those who don’t know). Pretty confident assembly was correct and successful. Put car on jacks and inspected installation. Reconnected then did the wheel to the left, wheel to the right routine. Seemed to be driving fine.įirst step in trying to fix problem was to disconnect battery and wait several minutes before reconnecting. ![]() I turned the ESP off and continued the drive. Well at any speed in excess of a fast walk I’d get the blinky yellow light telling me the car thought I was sliding out of control and into the nearest ditch. Anyway, after the brake pump had a chance to get the pads where the car wanted them, I rolled it out for a test drive. Turned car on and no messages (other than the low brake pressure warning message from having to press the pads back into the caliper so they would clear the rotor when I removed the caliper). While I was doing the bearing swap, though, I did turn the ignition to position 1 and turn the wheel to make it easier to access bolts. My situation is this: I swapped front left and right wheel bearings (inner and outer) but did not disconnect the battery. Dudes, very VERY interested to know whether you got your ESP/ABS issues taken care of!! I’m having big problems with this too.
